9/22

Received a request for a new one; a series of guestbook puzzles.  The reception guests would find their table number from a table filled with guestbook puzzle pieces.  250 guests; 250 pieces.  Each table would assemble their 10 piece puzzle after writing a blessing on the back.  25 different puzzles will be made into unique keepsakes for the couple to remember their big day.  How creative!

9/24

The Puzzle back is prepared for mounting.  The back is sealed for protection and to keep the signatures and notes from smudging into the open grain of the wood. The wood is 5 ply, 1/4" birch and is sturdy and firm to handle for the puzzlers.   This where I apply the adhesive to both surfaces before bonding them together.

9/25

The photographic paper is durable, has long lasting inks and works well with the narrow saw blade. The photos on the left are mounted and a protective finish was added. A little drying time and they are ready for cutting apart.

9/25

The first 4 puzzles are trimmed to their final sizes; approx 9"x6.5",  The 10 pieces will have plenty of room for a heartfelt note.

9/27 The first 4 puzzles are complete.  Cutting went smoothly.  THe 5 ply birch is tough.  I had to change blades half way through the 4th puzzle.

9/27 Plenty of room for the guest name, table #, and a blessing to the bride and groom.

This couple obviously has a photographer follow them at all times.

14 out of 25 and counting... This is just great. The weight of the completed puzzles when stacked up is getting quite impressive.
I 'm also building a stack of worn out saw blades from the tough 5-ply birch plywood.

28 puzzles, a couple spares or three for the rehearsal dinner, a repeat and a couple of new pictures added to the group.

A few of the casualties along the way.

What a great Project!  So many great shots of the couple for years of keepsake memories ahead.

11/15

The tables were set up with a frame on an easel for the finished puzzle.

The puzzle placecards had a clear label with the name and table #.
The puzzle pieces were set up on a table just like placecards would be. An easel held typed instructions on what to do.
It was fun to watch the guests try to figure out the puzzle with just pieces of Lauren or Gregg's face.
This one was set up on the gift table without a frame.
The picture puzzles added a nice touch to all the tables at the reception.
This is how they looked on the tables when the puzzle was completed. Some guests did not sign the back. We only lost one puzzle from the last table. I guess they thought it goes home with the guests.
